Maryland Mortgage Lender Examinations: Commissioner of Financial Regulation Proposes Changes to Maryland Lending Regulations

The Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation has issued and requested comments on a proposed new regulation under COMAR 09.03.06 that will enable the Commissioner’s examination staff to rely on examinations of licensees completed by regulators in other states.  The purpose of the proposed rule, among other things, is to increase efficiency and enable examiners to focus on new and/or high-risk licensees.  Comments will be accepted until October 10, 2023, and should be directed to: Amy P. Hennen, Director of Legislative Response and Special Projects, Office of Financial Regulation, by email at amy.hennen@maryland.gov or by phone at 410-230-6094.  For more information and to review the proposed regulations, go to https://2019-dsd.maryland.gov/MDRIssues/5018/Assembled.aspx#_Toc144896212.
